2009 CONVENTION RESULTS

 

  • We have 2 new AWA team captains this year. Chico Jose Morales will captain the Dingleberries, and Patrick Ramsey is taking over the old Rubix Cubes franchise.
  • Patrick Ramsey is changing the name of his franchise into the Tater Mitts.
  • 30 regular season games will be played this year.
  • Big League Chew and Badger Milk is now allowed in the AWA
  • All Mountain Dew is still banned, also any flavored altoids are banned too.
  • You are allowed to trade picks in the draft, but no trading of future year's picks. There is a cap of 4 players to a team, and a minimum of 2 players for that team to be in the league.
  • A captain can only release a player on bad behavior grounds, and he has to run it by Commissioner Benny B
  • The season trade deadline ends right before the first game of the playoffs is played.
  • Captain impeachment is possible with the consent of all the players on that captains team. It will then go to the front office for a final decision.
  • 2 out of 4 teams make it to the playoffs. The playoffs is a best 4 out of 7 championship series.
  • Admission to the league is $10.
  • Wifflestock rules will be used with games at White Brook/Daley field, and last years rules will apply at games at Tiere Field.
  • Voting for 2009 awards and all-stars... Everyone in the league will cast a vote. The council will then meet and make the final decisions. The votes only matter as guides for the council. They do not account to anything. All final matters will reside with the council's decisions.
  • There will be a North and South division, only for the purpose of seperating the top 3 players of each divison for the all-star game. In the North is The Dingleberries and the Unsalted Pugs, and in the South is the Cull Pepper Salt and the Tater Mitts.
  • The All-Star break will consist of three days. The first day will be the All-Star Celebrity Softball Game, the second day is the All-State HR Derby presented by Subway, and the third day is the actual All-Star 3v3 game.
  • A hits category will be added to this year's stats.
  • Sign ups for the league is sunday the 31st from 3-7 at White Brook. It is $10. When you sign up you will recieve a free Hamburger from Benny B (With the exeption of Mr. Jose who will recieve a frozen beast)
  • The AWA Draft will be held June 6th. A time and place is yet to be determined. All captains must attend, players can attend if they want.
  • SUSPENSIONS/FINES-
  • Little Chico-like brawl- 4 games
  • Legit physical brawl- 6 games
  • Stupid suspension (A matt wark)- 2 games
  • You will be fined $2 for every game you are suspended (Exp. 6 games= $12)
  • Picard can play (If he signs up)
  • Wesley Lavalle can play (If he signs up)
  • The home team gets to listen to any music they please and can bring their own CD
  • The Tater Mitts have announced their 2009 Theme song-  Bird Walk by Soulja Boy.
  • Ri Ri's Grammy is the new AWA Mascot
